Week 1- Summer School

Theme of the week : Fun in Summer

Curriculum highlights
This week our main focus was on having happy Summer insights. We talked about the various activities we can do for summer like going to the beach, enjoying some ice cream or popsicles to cool ourselves off and the food we would want to eat . All this was for them to understand that we can also have fun in the summer and stay hydrated as well. For them it was just another week of different activities and sensory play!

On Tuesday, we started the week with some cool summer water play. We cant talk about summer and have no water involved. They used balloons to explore the textures of water and also for painting. We all love a good balloon painting activity.

On Wednesday, we also need to cool a bit from the heat and we chose Popsicle from that. They got to feel the ice cold water Popsicle and make their own Popsicle with flower paper. This will help with their finger dexterity as they pick one paper pasting it on !

On Thursday, we finally made a sun craft. After all it is the reason why they call it summer. Our infants had a bit of tear play with sea creatures then joined in the summer craft. Crafts help them to connect with their surroundings and visualize distant objects.

On Friday, to sum up the week, we had to finish with a beach craft. After some fun demonstrations of how we could play with the water at the beach, we finally pasted our small items. This will help them with their sequencing skill and visual partial skills as they try to paste each object in its space.
