Theme of the week : Fun in Summer
Curriculum highlights
This week our main focus was on having a great picnic idea. We talked about the food stuff that we may require for Summer, the objects we need to stay cool and what games we can play. All this was incorporated in our activities throughout the week ! For them it was just another week of different activities and sensory play!
On Monday, our week started off with some vocabulary practice and hand to do a little sensory play. We used magnetic sand and some picnic pictures for some fun. The sand was their highlight as they realized they can make rice balls from it! We were trying to look for hidden pictures and name them when we found them!
On Tuesday, we made some ants from our pointy fingers. It was so fun, and easy as we were using one hand for the whole activity. We ended up having a lot of ants on our paper and little food to feed them! Despite it all, they enjoyed feeling the paint texture, and making some art.
On Wednesday, we had a buffet , we chose our favorite food items for a pasting activity in our basket. It was some yummy food, and the juice fit for a picnic. this helped us with our vocabulary as we would name the items and paste them.
On Thursday, we had some role play with a stuffed toy. Sometimes it is good to tap in our imagination and explore the possibilities of feeding our toys and which food they would prefer! Yum!
On Friday, to sum up the week, we made a basket. Who knew crafting can be so fun, designing our own baskets! They practiced their hand eye coordination by carefully placing the cut pieces on the paper. Afterwards they carried their baskets around singing!

Important updates
Our two weeks of summer school have come to an end. We had so much fun with everyone these two weeks, and we hope our little ones enjoyed their summer with us. Our theme for our first week back in August will be 'Nursery Rhymes' which gives a warm welcome to our little ones after a long break. We'll see everyone on Wednesday, August 20th!! I hope everyone has a great summer vacation.
